The King of the Kiddie Condiments As much as most parents hate it, most children love ketchup. Personally, give me mayonnaise any day of the week. It's hard to put your finger on it, but ketchup just hits that spot with children. It's like they are hardwired to like ketchup at the genetic level. The issue with giving little ones tomato ketchup is that it's highly processed and full of sugar, salt and preservatives. Even the reduced sugar/sugar free ones generally rely on various sweeteners, with there being controversy surrounding artificial sweeteners and their health consequences. In my opinion, having the word "artificial" as a prefix to something you are supposed to eat isn't the most inviting thought! The Happy Medium What I don't want you to take away from this is that this recipe is the only ketchup condiment you can use. As the old adage goes, "everything in moderation". Personally, I have no problem with Reuben having regular ketchup from time to time, especially when out and about or at a party etc. However, having the option of this baby ketchup as a healthy alternative for more regular use at home is something that I like to have the option of. If you're in need of a quick quick and easy meal then look no further than this! There's something about mushrooms, garlic, cheese and creamy sauce that just go together.... perfect comfort food.

Q: Baked Banana Cheesecakes

Cheesecake, in my opinion, is the nicest dessert you can get. Having said that, as a self-confessed cheesecake connoisseur, I have high expectations when it comes to these decadent delights, as I'm afraid a lot of offerings from the supermarkets simply do not live up to the anticipation you experience when your purchase it. A particular pet peeve of mine is using gelatine in no-bake cheesecakes, as personally the texture just does nothing for me. Due to this, my preference has always been baked cheesecake, as it provides that indulgent, creamy, melt in the mouth texture that you want from a good cheesecake. Thankfully, after first trying cheesecake for his first Christmas, it turns out that Reuben loves cheesecake... we would have needed to have some serious words if he didn't! Anyway, I decided that I would try my hand at a low sugar alternative to the normal baked cheesecake in order to make it more baby-friendly. These baked banana cheesecakes were created on my first attempt and to be honest I don't think they could be any more perfect. The sweetness in these cheesecakes is provided through a small amount of honey and the natural sweetness in banana, which is surprisingly enough for you to not realise that these are a healthy alternative to the real McCoy. Q: Indian 'No-Meat-Balls'

These Indian-spiced "No-Meat-Balls" are made using chickpeas as a meat substitute. Chickpeas are fantastic for several reasons, including having great flavour, but the one thing that makes them perfect for this recipe is that they're substantial. When it comes to vegetarian/vegan dishes chickpeas are one of those foods that provides a denser component, making them almost "meat-like". The spice in these comes from garam masala and turmeric, but feel free to play around with whatever spices you enjoy. Personally, I find that garam masala provides a nice balance of spices, which work amazingly in this. If possible though, I would always try and keep the turmeric in these. Turmeric is one of life's amazing foods, with it being a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant because of the active ingredient Curcumin, so I tend to throw it in as much of my cooking as possible! Q: Broccoli & Cauliflower Tots

These tots are on of my favourite things to make for Reuben, as they are super quick and easy to prepare, whilst tasting absolutely delicious! Use them as a main meal for a little one, or try as a side dish for an older child.

Q: Cheesy Cauliflower & Broccoli Sticks

When you first start weaning it can be difficult to think of foods that are acceptable to give a young baby. You're looking for something that has a soft texture, but is big enough for little hands to pick up independently, without the need for a pincer grip that they haven't yet developed. It's harder than a lot of people give it credit for! This recipe is one that I've used numerous times, including when we first started weaning Reuben. They are perfect for younger babies due to their shape and consistency, but can also be given to older children who will quite happily tuck in!

Q: Raspberry Weetabix Doughnuts

These doughnut moulds are fantastic, in that you don't even have to grease them before use - everything just pops out! If you don't want to purchase a doughnut mould, then maybe consider using this recipe to create muffins using a muffin mould or cases. The recipe itself produces really delicious little morsels for your little ones. The texture is soft, but they hold together well. They're not overly sweet, due to the absence of added sugar, but the raspberries do provide a little hint, as well as some subtle tartness that balances it well.
